ABOUT
THERAPEUTIC ANIMISM
Therapeutic Animism is a relational approach to healing that weaves together social work, embodiment, ecological connection, and animist perspectives. Rooted in the understanding that wellbeing emerges through relationship — with self, others, earth, spirit, and community — this work supports meaningful healing, inner alignment, and a deeper sense of belonging in the living world.
We heal through relationship.
Therapeutic Animism views healing not as fixing something broken, but as restoring connection — to self, body, community, meaning, nature, and spirit.
This approach blends relational and trauma-informed social work practices with animist perspectives that honour the interconnectedness and aliveness of life.
“The living world is not just scenery around our healing. It is part of the healing itself.”
— Chauntell Dietrich, Therapeutic Animism
SOCIAL WORK
Social work is a relational and holistic practice focused on supporting the wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities. Rooted in values such as dignity, equity, social justice, and human connection, social work helps people navigate emotional, relational, and systemic challenges while recognizing the broader social and environmental factors that shape their experiences. Through trauma-informed care, empowerment, advocacy, and compassionate support, social work seeks to foster healing, resilience, and meaningful change.
ANIMISM
Animism is an ancient worldview that understands life as interconnected, alive, and imbued with meaning. Rooted in many indigenous and traditional cultures, it honours the relationship between humans, nature, spirit, and the wider web of life. Within Therapeutic Animism, animism serves as a foundation for healing, encouraging reconnection, inner wisdom, ecological belonging, and a more compassionate relationship with ourselves, others, and the living world around us.
